An inauspicious inauguration, but here it starts. I'm scoping out Avignon for the next month before traveling there with my lovely wife and some friends. Here is des Halles a Avignon, which seems to be like a French Whole Foods. Its exterior is festooned with vegetation, done by Patrick Blanc.

According to news at des Halles a Avignon, the city is celebrating its 700th anniversary of the Popes' arrival by reproducing an assortment of medieval recipes. September's recipe is Pressed rabbit with Muscat.
